Sophia Loren Revealed How Her Career Will Change After Becoming 90 Years Old in Super-Rare Interview
Despite what many may have thought, Sophia Loren hasn’t retired, and won’t be retiring any time soon. While Loren recently entered her 90s, she’s not saying goodbye to film just yet.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Loren talked about how she won’t change her career just because she’s 90 years old. In fact, she’s not even thinking about her legacy, rather her continuing work.

“I don’t want to think about legacy,” she said. “I want to think about my next movie. I’ll think of legacy once I retire, and I hope never to retire.”
While her last film was in 2020, when she played Madame Rosa in The Life Ahead, it seems she won’t be saying no to another film if it intrigues her. (But for now, it seems she’s living her best life in Geneva with her family!)
As many fans know, Loren celebrated her 90th birthday in Sept 2024, doing so with her closest friends and family. Friends even spilled the beans on if she has any unfinished business in her life. (Hint: no she doesn’t, she enjoys the balance she ahs on life and career!)
“Sophia has checked off everything on her bucket list,” a friend said to Closer Weekly. “She’s had a full life and wouldn’t change a thing. At this stage of her life, Sophia’s passions are spending time with her grandchildren, sitting in her garden, watching some of her favorite shows or classic films. She wants to be comfortable, have good conversations with friends and eat good meals.”
