'The Sopranos': Everything that made us love the series for 25 years
Some shows don't hold up.
"The Sopranos" isn't one of them.
The happy story of an organized crime leader and his family kicked off 25 years ago and lasted six seasons until it was ultimately whacked after the scene in Holsten's Brookdale Confectionery. Was Tony Soprano killed? Was he not? I don't know, I'm not David Chase.
But what I do know is the show was a classic.
Last week, HBO reran the entire series. We watched and we found some of the greatest things about the show.
They had an arc! The Sopranos characters we love most
It's a show worth celebrating.
It's a show worth watching.
And the reason everyone is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Sopranos is because it's one of the best shows of all time.
One of the main reasons for it was the characters. Even though just about everyone in the show would be a "bad guy" if the show was wrestling, it's hard not to fall in love with the villains.
Do you remember these 25 stars from 'The Sopranos?'
"The Sopranos" made a lot of people.
I'm not talking about made, made.
These guys and girls didn't get their button.
A lot of actors and actresses used their appearance in the greatest show of all time to springboard them to a great career. Others were famous before a guy walked into a psychiatrist's office, but made a cameo on the show.
What are the best episodes, songs on The Sopranos?
"Don't touch that. My program is coming on!" That quote comes from our fictional guy Paulie Gualtieri, when he was in the can awaiting trial on gun charges. But you can say the same when watching the "Sopranos" series.
"That thing of theirs" is available on HBO On Demand and Streaming on Max. Do you want to find out what happened to the Russian in the Pine Barrons? What about when Paulie saw the image of the Virgin Mary, whatever happened there?
