Soulja Boy heads to Columbus this weekend

Time is running out to purchase tickets to see Soulja Boy perform Sunday.

Soulja Boy, known for 2000s hits such as "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" and "Kiss Me Thru the Phone," will perform at Newport Music Hall, 1722 N. High St.

General-admission tickets are $45 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com. VIP meet-and-greet tickets are available for $86. Fans can also purchase tickets at the door for $32.50 to $75.

Who is Soulja Boy?

DeAndre Cortez Way, 34, is famously known by his stage name Soulja Boy Tell 'Em. In 2007, his single "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song the following year.

With this record-breaking hit and amassing millions of views with other great hits like "Turn My Swag On," "Pretty Boy Swag" and "Rick & Morty," Soulja Boy is also credited for setting off the internet dance craze and popularizing YouTube as a platform for artists.

Soulja Boy also began dabbling in the gaming industry six years ago with the release of a video game console called “SouljaGame” in 2018, but the product was eventually discontinued due to copyright issues. He has since announced the possibility of a new video game.

Soulja Boy previously performed at Skully's Music-Diner in the Short North last year.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. Sunday. The show is open to all ages.
