Special Royal Appearance at Trooping the Colour Confirmed
This year's Trooping the Colour ceremony is getting a visit from not one but five special guests.
New reports reveal several Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) horses injured while on an exercise earlier this spring will appear during Saturday's highly-anticipated event.
Three of the five horses that were hurt in Belgravia on Wednesday, April 24, after being spooked by rubble being dropped through a plastic tunnel, will take part in the annual parade celebrating the king's birthday.
Immediately following the incident, the Military Working Horses received emergency veterinary treatment for their injuries. They then underwent rehabilitation at Hyde Park Barracks, followed by "a period of expert respite care in rolling fields" at equine charity The Horse Trust.

Since returning to work last month, Horses Tennyson, Trojan and Vanquish made "swift and successful" recoveries and have shown "such aptitude and eagerness." The three horses have made such impressive improvements that they're ready to take part in the ceremonial guard for the official entrance to the Royal Palaces during the June 15 event, the Army said in a statement.
Saturday's celebrations will be the first major parade since the events in April, so arrangements have been made for the horses to have some of the most experienced riders and instructors in the military leading them.
Several other royal family members are presumably headed to London for Saturday's festivities, but Kate won't be one of them. The Princess of Wales has already apologized for her absence, noting that she's very proud "of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel's Review and Trooping of the Colour" and that "I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practicing for months, and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate."
