Spice Girls fans want Victoria Beckham to be part of the reunion tour: 'Friendship never ends?'
Not surprisingly, Victoria Beckham has decided to skip the just announced Spice Girls reunion tour. While she joined them for a group performance at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London, Beckham long ago moved on from dancing and singing to spicing up wardrobes with her designs.
Nevertheless, Posh Spice wished her fellow Spices “so much love and fun,” and said that her years in the ’90s pop group were “a hugely important part of my life” in a sweet social media message. She added, “I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”

Fans were understandably excited about the Spice Girls reunion, but they were crushed that Beckham won’t be part of it. Some used some sort of variation on the phrase, “Friendship never ends,” which the girl power group used in the title of their song, “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).” Beckham herself used it in a hashtag in her post about the reunion announcement.
“Friendship never ends? So Why Is Victoria Beckham not joining? Life is too short. Why not?” one commenter pleaded. “It’s all a bit of fun!”
Other fans were “heartbroken” and said it just “won’t be the same” without Posh.
“Shame u won’t be joining … after all u wouldn’t be where u are today if it weren’t for the spice girls! Just don’t seem right just 4 … it was always the 5 of u!! Little bit of give n take,” one fan said.
“I need Posh Spice.”
“Yes but uugghhh no Posh!”
“Reunion canceled.”
Another praised Beckham for her “lovely message of support to friends.”
Beckham has explained that she was always uncomfortable in her performing days, and claimed that her microphone was sometimes switched off during concerts to hide her voice.
“They used to turn it off and just let the others sing,” she told Entertainment Tonight in May 2016. “I got the last laugh, and now my mic is well and truly on, finally.”
Beckham also said she was “more reserved” than the other women when they were dancing.
“When all the other girls were being fun and spontaneous and jumping on tables, I was always the one checking the table wasn’t going to collapse,” she said. “I was always the sensible one. Luckily, because I used to wear heels, I just used to jig about a bit, and I got away with it.”
Even so, Scary Spice Mel B — real name Melanie Brown — appeared to be on the side of fans in wanting Beckham to rejoin the Spice Girls for their tour. She even dressed as Beckham for Halloween, holding a sign that said, “No I am not going on tour.”
