Prodigy was cancelled last June after a single season at Paramount+, but Netflix snapped it up in October with a deal that included a second season that was already in the works at the time of the cancellation.
The kid-friendly series “follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future,” per the official description. Star Trek: Voyager alum Kate Mulgrew reprises her role as Admiral Janeway, leading a voice cast that also includes Brett Gray as Dal, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Angus Imrie as Zero, Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf, John Noble as The Diviner and Jimmi Simpson as Drednok.
Recurring voices include Daveed Diggs as Commander Tysess, Jameela Jamil as Ensign Asencia, Jason Alexander as Doctor Noum, Robert Beltran as Captain Chakotay and Billy Campbell as Thadiun Okona. Kevin and Dan Hageman serve as co-showrunners.
