Hey, given leaks, and rumors, and spoilers, it's quite possible that Dark Rey, who we saw in the latest Rise of Skywalker trailer, might just be a vision. But, what if it's not?

Could Rey turn bad? Could she be possessed by Palpatine? These are the questions agonizing Star Wars fans this week. But, one fan on Reddit introduced a pretty interesting idea that connects Rey to the Knights of Ren. According to this theory, the Knights of Ren are all clones of Anakin Skywalker, created for the use of the Emperor and his contingency plan. But, when she was young, Rey was rescued or separated from the other clones. The user continues:

They have to fit the Knights of Ren into the storyline somehow and make them relevant within a movie where they are seemingly not the primary antagonists. I think this is how they are going to do it, they are Rey's "family" so to speak. It explains a lot actually, why Rey seems to have had at least some training and how she is able to pick up things related to the Force so fast, the scene in the cave, what happened when she came into contact with the lightsaber, why it seems to respond to her, why Kylo seems to know about her past, why he is connected to her, etc...

As much as I'd like to see Rey turn to the dark side in the movie and flip the script for the next set of sequels [that we all know are going to happen], I don't think they're going to do that, even though I think they should. I think it's been set up that Rey is a clone. The Knights of Ren have been suspiciously prominent despite barely being present at all. That will be the twist towards the end of the film I think, that they are all "Rey", or at the least clones of other force users. It would be cool to see Hadyen Christensen back in SW as a cloned Sith if they decide to make some of the Knights of Ren male. They are all wearing heavy clothes and none are obviously male, but could be mixed DNA clones with varying genders. They could do something with Mark Hamill in the movie as something other than a Force Ghost as well if they do this. He famously wanted Luke to turn to the Dark Side in Return of the Jedi. While he's played a Sith Lord in animated form, I think he'd be quite happy to play a villain in a Star Wars live action movie. I wouldn't hate to see one of them be a clone of Mace Windu either. They did have a hand left over, even if they never found the rest of him.

This is an interesting twist on the popular Rey is a clone theory. And it's one of the few theories I've seen that works the Knights of Ren into the plot in a cohesive way. Plus, as ridiculous as the clone theory might be, there is precedent for it in the Star Wars universe. And, most importantly, that would explain the vision Rey had in The Last Jedi that showed endless mirrored copies of her.
