Star Wars ultimate franchise supercut

Nick Romano

Before Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there was Darth Vader. Before Vader, there was Anakin. All phases of the Star Wars universe is represented in a new franchise trailer that takes fans through the prequels all the way to The Force Awakens.

Focusing “on the Skywalker family and how The Force powerfully binds the galaxy together,” the video from Fandango’s Movieclips cuts together footage from all seven installments — and just in time, too. J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens hits Digital HD today ahead of the DVD and Blu-ray release coming April 5. (The film is also available on FandangoNOW.)

Director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) is prepping to release the next expansion of the Star Wars universe, Rogue One, while Rian Johnson (Looper) is currently filming Star Wars: Episode VIII. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Dohmnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, and more return for the second installment of the new trilogy.

Rogue One will hit theaters on Dec. 16, and Episode VIII is scheduled for release on Dec. 15, 2017.
