Stella McCartney Debuts Another Collaboration with Adidas at Her Spring 2025 Show in Paris
More from Footwear News
Stella McCartney hosted her spring 2025 show held beneath the Eiffel Tower today.
The showing, titled “Save What You Love,” focused on exploring the relationship between people and wildlife, with an emphasis on birds. Each piece, cast in largely neutral hues, focused on sustainability, utilizing eco-friendly practices to bring each design to life.
While the clothing was the fixation of the collection, the footwear seemingly stole the show. McCartney incorporated new collaborative footwear into her spring 2025 showing, hailing from longtime collaborator Adidas. Sent down the runway on models and worn by guests like Barbara Palvin and Xochitl Gomez, the new creation was boxing-inspired, an on-trend reference of the moment.
Crafted of all-white leather and fixed with Adidas‘ three-striped motif, the silhouette married fashion and athleticism, incorporating both McCartney’s and Adidas’ visions seamlessly. A select few of these ankle and calf-length styles were also adorned with tassel detailing up the back, offering textural interest.
It’s no surprise that Adidas was incorporated into McCartney’s latest showing, given the two have had a fruitful partnership for a little over a decade. All the way back in 2004, the British fashion mogul launched a joint-venture line with Adidas, solidifying their relationship. Said line focused on sports performance wear for women.
In Sept. 2010, McCartney was appointed Team Great Britain’s Creative Director for the 2012 Olympics by Adidas – the first time in the games’ history that a leading fashion designer designed the apparel for a country’s team across all competitions for both the Olympic and the Paralympic Games. Even McCartney’s husband Alasdhair Willis has a relationship with the brand, working as Adidas’ Chief Creative Officer.
McCartney has launched a slew of colorful and eco-friendly shoe designs under her partnership with the brand including the Ultraboost 5, Earthlight 2.0 and the Low Ground style. Her deep affinity for the athletic corporation is apparent in both her recent collection and impressive history with them.
