Peacock’s Comedy ‘Laid’ Trailer Teases Stephanie Hsu’s Ruby and Zosia Mamet’s AJ Solving The Mystery Of Ruby’s Sex Timeline – UPDATE
Updated with full trailer: Peacock’s Laid comedy starring Stephanie Hsu teases the many guest stars involved with the complicated plot of the story.
The premise involves Hsu’s Ruby discovering, with the help of her best friend AJ (Zosia Mamet), that all the people she has had sex with are dying . AJ, whose fascination with true crime makes her a huge help, helps Ruby go back through her sex timeline and confront her past relationships in order to move forward.

It starts with Brandon from college, but when it goes from three ex boyfriends to six, Ruby decides that she has to start warning the ones who are still alive.
The main cast also includes Michael Angarano and Tommy Martinez.
New guest cast joining the series include Simu Liu, Kate Berlant and Alexandra Shippwho join previously announced guest stars including Andre Hyland, David Denman, John Early, Ettore “Big E” Ewen, Chloe Fineman, Olivia Holt, and Finneas O’Connell.

All episodes of the dark comedy will arrive December 19 in a binge format.
Previously: Peacock has set the premiere date for the upcoming comedy series Laid as December 19, with all episodes dropping as a binge. The NBCU streamer dropped a teaser (above) and a collection of first-look photos, which can be found below.
Executive producer Stephanie Hsu stars as Ruby, a woman who finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward. Ruby’s best friend AJ (Zosia Mamet) helps keep her sex timeline in order so every last ex is accounted for.
The main cast also includes Michael Angarano and Tommy Martinez; Andre Hyland, Olivia Holt, David Denman, Finneas O’Connell, Chloe Fineman, Ettore “Big E” Ewen and John Early will guest star.
“When we started to develop Laid, we were intrigued by the idea of bringing back the old-school, traditional romantic comedy (swelling music! kisses in the rain! Anne Hathaway or someone who is also appealing!), but because we were living in such a dark time (pandemic! industry strikes!), we felt it needed to have some kind of twist,” shared co-showrunners and executive producers Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna in a joint statement.
They continued, “Sure, it could be optimistic and heartwarming and make you believe in love again, but it should probably also have suspense, death, and blood. The premise of Laid—a woman discovers all of her exes are dying in mysterious ways—seemed exactly what we were looking for: a f*cked-up rom-com.”

Laid is from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. It is based on the Australian series of the same name, created by Marieke Hardy and Kirsty Fisher and produced by Liz Watts.
