Stephen Colbert and John Oliver goad Trump to meet with Robert Mueller
John Oliver and Stephen Colbert gave President Trump some encouragement on The Late Show. It’s been revealed that special counsel Robert Mueller may want to interview Trump in his Russia investigation. Sources say that Trump’s lawyers are advising against it, but Trump himself wants to meet with Mueller.
Oliver joked that Trump will have to physically go through his lawyers to do the interview and that he would “purger himself before he finished his name.”
Colbert turned to the camera and said, “I think he would do a good job, and I think he should do it.”
Oliver then changed his tone and said, “If I can cosign on that, I know I joke around a lot, Mr. President, but I also think you would do an excellent job. And I too think you should do it.”
