Stevie J Claims Diddy Was On Drugs When He Assaulted Cassie In Hotel Video
Stevie J has always been one of Diddy’s most loyal associates—even dating back to him being a part of the Bad Boys Hitmen production team. The producer and reality star has backed the 55-year-old even through his current ongoing legal battle against serious allegations—but his support may now be wavering.
Stevie J appeared in the TMZ documentary The Downfall of Diddy, where not only a ton of jaw dropping revelations have been unveiled, he also offered some of his own. Stevie gave his input to Harvey Levin about the shocking footage that surfaced showing Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel lobby. The Love & Hip Hop star admitted that, even as someone who’s known Diddy for decades, he was taken back by the footage.
“It was a real emotional moment,” he admitted. “He was hurt that that video came out, it crushed him.” Stevie then doubled down on what Diddy claimed his reasoning to be: being in a “dark place” at that time, while adding the claim that the “Gotta Move On” artist was on drugs back then.
“He was in a dark place in his life. He was just doing a lot of drugs and it was dark for him,” he alleged. While it’s not exactly shocking news that Diddy may have had battled drug use, Stevie’s on-camera confirmation as a close associate adds some weight to the rumors.
When Levin asked the father-of-six about Diddy’s reaction to the assault video going public, Stevie said that Diddy wasn’t focused on damaging his reputation, but the women in his life seeing the footage. “He was like, ‘Yo, my daughters and my mom gotta see this,'” Stevie recalled speaking with him. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, your friends gotta see it, too.'”
“Who wants to see themselves beating on a girl?” he responded to the idea of Diddy “reliving” the moment in 2024. “I think that would hurt all of us.”
While it’s clear Stevie may be trying to protect Diddy’s image, no amount of his emotional distress changes the gravity of what happened, or the way the public has reacted to it. Currently, Diddy is incarcerated in NYC as he awaits his trial to begin next year. He’s fighting serious charges of sexual assault, racketeering and sex trafficking.
