Sting Kicks Off North American Leg of “Sting 3.0 Tour” in Detroit: Video + Setlist

Sting has officially brought his new trio to the United States, kicking off the North American leg of his “Sting 3.0” tour on Tuesday at The Fillmore in Detroit.

Joined by guitarist and longtime collaborator Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, the former Police frontman delivered a set nearly split down the middle between Sting tunes and Police favorites. The trio opened with “Message in a Bottle” and went on to perform classics like “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” and “Roxanne,” as well as his recently released solo single “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart).”

The accomplished bassist and songwriter will continue the “Sting 3.0” tour with a string of multi-night stints, starting with his second concert in Detroit tonight (Wednesday, September 18th). He’ll then head to Toronto for three nights, followed by runs in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles. He also came to the rescue for both Bourbon & Beyond and Ohana, stepping in as a last-minute headliner after Neil Young backed out of each festival.
