Don your purple clothes and get ready to rock because Paint the Pony Purple is returning to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

On Sunday, March 24, four bands will battle to raise funds for the Family Resource Network of New Jersey, and its associate nonprofits like Autism Family Services of New Jersey, Caregivers of New Jersey, and Epilepsy Services of New Jersey. This festival comes two days before globally-celebrated "Purple Day," on Tuesday, March 26, when people wear purple to increase epilepsy awareness worldwide.

"We are excited to bring back Paint the Pony Purple at the Stone Pony to raise epilepsy awareness in New Jersey," said Liza Gundell, CEO of Epilepsy Services of New Jersey.  "Come pack the Pony with us [to] promote independence and quality of life for people with epilepsy and their families.

"Making connections with others that have been through what you’ve been through is a very powerful and uplifting experience," she added.

The 13th annual event kicks off at 1 p.m., and will feature The Black Ties, Shoreline Drive, Via Crowe and Bovine Bandits. Attendees will vote for the band they love the most, by making a donation in their name.

All proceeds raised will enable families across New Jersey to participate in the Family Resource Network's programs and services, including education and awareness through community impact boards, advocacy, webinars and specialized seizure first aid training.

The network directly serves 30,000 families throughout the state.
