Stranger Things Season 5 Production Begins, Cast Photo Unveiled
Netflix has unveiled a new cast photo to celebrate the official start of Stranger Things Season 5‘s long-awaited production. The photo features several cast members seated in a room, all portrayed in monochrome with the only color coming from a large red “5.”
In a press release from Netflix, the streamer revealed that production on the final season of the acclaimed drama series has officially begun. Filming was originally meant to take place last year but ended up being delayed over seven months as a result of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that occurred.

The series currently stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.
Season 4 introduced a number of new fan-favorite character characters, including Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson, Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna, Eduardo Franco’s Argyle, Tom Wlaschiha’s Enzo, Grace Van Dien’s Chrissy, and Amybeth McNulty’s Vickie. Besides Bower, it’s currently unclear if the rest of the new Season 4 characters will make appearances in the final season.
Who are the showrunners for Stranger Things Season 5?
Stranger Things is created and executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, who also serve as showrunners. Executive producers are Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Patterson. All four seasons are now available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
