‘The Studio’ teaser: Seth Rogen’s new comedy series lampoons movie-making [Watch]
Apple TV+ announced today that its new half-hour comedy series, titled “The Studio,” will premiere with its first two episodes on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, followed by one episode every week through May 21, 2025. Watch the official teaser video above.
Five-time Emmy nominee Seth Rogen stars as a movie executive named Matt Remick who’s in over his head as the new boss of Continental Studios, a fictional Hollywood movie company known for its big budget popcorn fare. Rogen is joined by co-stars Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders, with special guest star appearances by Bryan Cranston, Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, and Ron Howard.

In the teaser for “The Studio,” Matt explains how he got into this business because he “loves movies,” but now he fears it’s his job to “ruin them.” Cranston’s character explains how Continental doesn’t make “artsy-fartsy films,” but instead “makes movies — movies!” And Scorsese is seen telling Matt that he’s “talentless” and “spineless.”
Rogen serves as a writer, director, and executive producer of “The Studio” alongside Evan Goldberg. The duo previously worked together on projects like “The Boys,” “Preacher,” “Superbad,” and “Sausage Party.”
Here is how Apple TV+ describes “The Studio”: “As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their never-ending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.”
“The Studio” is created by “Veep” producers Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory, along with Rogen and Goldberg, and Frida Perez. It will be eligible at the 2025 Emmys.
