‘Suits’ Breaks Nielsen’s All-Time Overall Streaming Record, Claims No. 1 Spot For 12th Week; ‘Virgin River’ Tops Streaming Originals

It’s a record breaker. Suits has again landed in the No. 1 spot on the overall Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for a 12th week, surpassing Ozark for the most No. 1 overall finishes on the overall chart ever — since Nielsen began reporting the Top 10s in 2020. Only 11 streaming titles have sat atop Nielsen’s Top 10 for five weeks or more.

While previous record holder Ozark achieved the top spot in overall appearances for a streaming title over all of its seasons, USA Network’s Suits managed to accomplish the feat in 12 weeks.

Netflix’s Virgin River with 1.9 billion minutes viewed, bumped One Piece, previously No. 1 on the Streaming Originals list, to the No. 2 slot for the week of Sept. 4-10. Virgin River also took the No. 2 spot on the overall chart with One Piece at No. 3.

Disney+’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid, notching 1.4 billion viewing minutes for No. 4 overall and No. 1 movie. The Little Mermaid had the highest level of “co-viewing” among this week’s titles with nearly 70% of viewers watching with someone else. Virgin River had the lowest co-viewing percentage this week with 34%.

Rounding out the billion minute titles is the acquired title S.W.A.T., which streamed across Hulu, Netflix and Paramount+. Season 7 was introduced on Netflix last interval, which put it back on the overall list, but viewing jumped enough this week to land in the top five.

Meanwhile, Prime Video’s original The Wheel of Time notched 515 million viewing minutes (same as last week) after releasing another new episode and moved up to No. 3 among originals.

Hulu’s original Only Murders In The Building released another episode and was up slightly to 470 million (adding 10 million versus last interval) to claim No. 5 among originals.
