Summer Camp Music Festival evolves into Solshine Reverie for Memorial Day weekend 2024
Summer Camp Music Festival officially closed up shop in Chilicothe, Ill., after 2023, but that doesn't mean the music and art experience was left to die.
The festival is taking the next step in the program's evolution with a new concept called Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie.

What is Solshine Reverie presented by Summer Camp?
Solshine Reverie is an evolution of Summer Camp Music Festival.
The festival will aim to inspire attendees to live a life of intention and purpose in order to create a positive impact on the world, continuing the core mission of sustainability, according to the release.
The new concept will host a diverse, cross-genre lineup of musical acts that may include jam bands, electronic, bluegrass, funk, rock and everything in between, as well as a variety of activities, workshops and food and craft vendors with a feel similar to Summer Camp Music Festival.
The experiential art area, The Illumination Woods, will be back and the permanent garden, SOULPATCH, returns as a dedicated area to increase knowledge of permaculture and sustainability.
“The spirit and community of Summer Camp will remain, but we are excited to again push boundaries, as we did when we started Summer Camp, and expand the festival's mission by bringing the Solshine to the forefront," said Ian Goldberg, founder of Summer Camp and Solshine.
"Soulshine had been the house of our Make a Difference program and sustainability efforts, so elevating that intentionality to the overall festival was a big part of the plan. Summer Camp had evolved into much more than a music festival, it was a community centered around music and art. I wanted to recognize that in the name by not calling it a festival but a Reverie full of music and arts, such that we all can create our experience together – and have that build intentionality in our actions once we leave."
