Superman Has Now Finished Filming, Says Director James Gunn
That’s a wrap! Superman has now finished filming, as revealed in a social media post by the movie’s director James Gunn.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Gunn expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew, writing a heartfelt message under a picture of the core cast posing in Svalbard, Norway.
“God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life,” wrote Gunn. “I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own.”
In the image above, we can see Superman himself David Corenswet, and a shaven-headed Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, suggesting the two shot a scene together in this snowy setting.
Superman also features Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Sean Gunn, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabel Merced, and Nathan Fillion.

Remember when Chris Pratt was spotted on the set of Superman?
Gunn continued, “Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honor. The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set - and for that I am forever grateful.”
Superman is set for release on July 11, 2025.
