‘Survivor 47’ deleted scene: Caroline Vidmar describes her ‘frustrating’ mental breakdown [Watch]

In this week’s “Survivor 47” deleted scene from Episode 10, Caroline Vidmar talks about her mental breakdown after losing the reward challenge. The 90-second clip takes place on day 17, and reveals what the six castaways at the Beka beach were up to while Rachel LaMont, Sam Phalen, and Kyle Ostwald were enjoying their reward meal at the Survivor Sanctuary. “We lost the reward challenge today, and I now understand why they give out rice around this time,” Caroline narrates for the audience. “This was a really hard loss because, as the person who’s gone on the least amount of rewards and have had the longest time without food, I have the most empty tank right now, and I feel it.”

The 27-year-old strategy consultant from Chicago, Ill. continues on, “It’s an effort to do the most basic things, even just standing up. It’s starting to feel like I’m just not in control of my body, and it’s frustrating. I know my brain is there, I know my body is there, [but] without food, I’m losing the ability to access it. You feel like you can’t keep going. You feel like you’re not gonna be able to push through.”

Caroline explains that “some ‘Survivor’ players crumble” in moments like this. “But this is the challenge I’m ready for,” she tells the camera, “and this is the challenge I wanted when I signed up to be on ‘Survivor.'”

The emotional clip ends with Caroline’s fellow castaways — Andy Rueda, Genevieve Mushaluk, Teeny Chirichillo, Gabe Ortis, and Sue Smey — encouraging her and telling her she’s a “strong” person.

As “Survivor” viewers are well aware, the 10th episode continued on as usual, with Kyle winning his fourth immunity necklace and the nine competitors attending tribal council. The tribe was initially divided between booting Genevieve or Gabe, and Gabe is the one who ultimately had his torch snuffed.
