‘Survivor 47’ deleted scene: Gabe Ortis, all alone at camp, searches for yet another idol [WATCH]
In this week’s “Survivor 47” deleted scene (watch above), Gabe Ortis found himself alone at the Tuku camp after Caroline Vidmar, Kyle Ostwald, Sue Smey and Tiyana Hallums all took part in the “Survivor Social Hour” co-mingling reward barbecue. Ever the gamer, Gabe used the opportunity to start searching for a hidden immunity idol. For the record, it would be his second one so far in the game, because he already located and played an idol in the season premiere.
“Coming back from the reward challenge, it’s just me at camp and I’ve got one thing on my mind,” he told the camera in a private confessional. “It’s not being alone. It’s not moping around. It’s put your stuff down, start hunting. I found it once. I’ll go find it again.”

As viewers were treated to shots of Gabe searching in bushes and around trees, he continued on, “I want to find an idol. As far as I know, nobody has found anything. And now I can really go as hard as I want. I can really throw things around. I can really dig deep. And I don’t have to worry about anybody catching me finding it.”

During a rather ironic moment, Gabe appeared to be looking up the tree where Sue found the idol last week (and got covered in red paint in the process). “Sue can’t get up this,” he whispered to himself before adding, “No offense, Sue.”
At the end of the clip, Gabe came to realize that his search had “proven fruitless.” He explained, “I didn’t find anything, and I worry a little bit about how my name is gonna be tossed around at ‘Survivor Social Hour,’ because they have a total free pass right now to talk about me without me being there as openly as they want. So when they return to camp, it’s gonna be the biggest test of my relationship building out here.”
Gabe is one of 13 players still in the running to win the $1 million prize for this 47th season of “Survivor.” Find out how the merge shakes up the game when Episode 6 airs Wednesday, October 23 on CBS.
