8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Survivor’!” In the first episode, the three tribes competed in their first challenge, with Gata prevailing and winning their camp supplies. Aysha from Lavo and TK from Tuku were chosen to go on a journey in which they tried to obtain their supplies; TK succeeded while Aysha returned to her camp empty-handed. At the reward/immunity challenge, Andy had an epic breakdown and threw his ally Jon under the bus. After Gata lost immunity, Jon and Andy’s names were both being thrown out, but Jon decided to target Anika instead, hoping he could rally enough numbers to get her out. Unfortunately, Jon’s plan backfired and he was eliminated from the game. Seventeen players remain. Who will be voted out tonight?

8:02 p.m. – At Lavo, Rome made the decision to not keep the secret of the Beware Advantage box to himself and under the cover of night disclosed to Teeny in order to gain her trust. The next morning, Teeny went to Kishan and together they looked at the box and read the note attached to it. While Teeny and Kishan were there, Rome came by, forcing Teeny to pivot and tell Rome that he was hoping the two of them could work together with Kishan in a tight three. Still, it let Rome know that he couldn’t trust Teeny as much as he thought he could. Together, they made the decision that Rome would keep the idol good for one tribal council rather than risk his vote again for a chance at a longer-lasting idol.

8:07 p.m. – TK was setting his sights at Tuku on a strong three-person alliance that involves him, Kyle and Tiyana, throwing aside a fading feeling that he wanted to work with Gabe. To that end, Tiyana expressed that she was concerned about a “bromance,” but TK explained that he can see Gabe “doing a lot of stuff” and so he said there’s no bromance and he wants to work with the two of them as a solid alliance. This was good news for Tiyana who figured that the bromance would be dead in the water.

8:10 p.m. – After an admittedly “tumultuous” day three, Andy was ready for a “recovery” at Gata that would be characterized by feeling included in the “social vibe of the tribe.” In confessionals, it appeared though that Gata was only trying to superficially show Andy support in order to keep him in line, but realistically he was still their ideal next boot. With idol paranoia spreading, Sam was used for “Andy duty” while the three women went hunting for the idol and clues. In a moment when Sam left Andy alone to use the bathroom, Andy took advantage of the opportunity to go on a hunt before the women returned. In this time, he found the Beware Advantage in a branch, but decided to “leave it for now” to give himself time to decide whether to accept the challenge or not.

8:19 p.m. – Rome was starting to rub his peers the wrong way at Lavo for putting himself in the “showman” position of power where he was making all of the fires and accomplishing all the bucket list items for being on the show. Even his storytelling and socializing was perceived as “cocky.”

8:23 p.m. – Sam let the women at Gata know that Andy had time to go idol hunting on his own and so he and Anika decided to go on a hunt of their own to ensure that Andy didn’t find anything. Shockingly, they found exactly what Andy found (and replaced) and took it for themselves. Sam is the one that claimed it, to Anika’s relief since she thought this would only put a bigger target on someone she already sees a target on. Sam was uncomfortable with Anika knowing his secret and leaving the possibility that she’d tell Sierra and Rachel before he gets a chance to. So, in order to secure his trust with Sierra and Rachel, Sam went to each of them and told them about the idol himself. Eventually Andy went back to claim the Beware Advantage he left behind, but by then it was indeed gone. Believing it to be in the hands of one of the women, Andy went to Sam and said that the women have an idol in their possession and they would have to stick together against them. Little did he know that Sam was holding in his pocket the key to the box that would unlock the idol.

8:28 p.m. – With his new alliance formed, TK wanted to discuss who Tuku would vote out if they lose the next challenge. He offered up Sue’s name to Tiyana and Kyle, bringing Gabe in to “the four” conversation, but Gabe was privately thinking that Sue and Caroline are “more attractive” to him as alliance members for him. He called them “wounded birds” that would need to stay aligned with him. Caroline was shocked by Gabe coming to her because they have no working relationship up until this point and she expressed her hesitation in working together. In order to squash her skepticism, Gabe showed him his idol, which worked a little as a “weird show of trust” to Caroline that she started to think she might be willing to work with him. Sue told Caroline that as long as they stay strong with Gabe that they’ll be okay.

8:36 p.m. – After agreeing to take a nap on the beach with TK, Kyle and Tiyana, Sue was frustrated that TK didn’t stop talking in his bro code with Kyle, disrupting what should have been a peaceful and rejuvenating time. Sue expressed her feelings to Tiyana and felt like Tiyana felt similar, but was unsure if Tiyana would actually want to vote him out. At this point, Tiyana was privately of the mind to stick with “the big dogs” and vote against the women if needed.

8:38 p.m. – After telling Rachel and Sierra about the idol, Sam was able to find the box with Sierra and in their “shared moment” they made the decision to play it safe and keep the idol good for one tribal council instead of risk for the more powerful version. Sam was immediately thinking about how best to use it and suggested that he might play it for Andy, feeling not good about going down to four with only the three women. Sierra didn’t necessarily like the idea, but at this point she was willing to follow his lead.

8:45 p.m. – For the next immunity challenge, Jeff wanted the tribes to start in the water to carry a bag of rice through obstacles back to the beach where they’d finish with three people maneuvering a wall across a difficult snake trap. In addition to safety, the tribes competed for two reward options: first tribe to finish earning a large fishing kit and second tribe to finish earning a smaller set of fishing supplies. The losing tribe would give up their flint and see Jeff later at tribal council to vote someone out.

8:47 p.m. – In this challenge, Tuku sat out Sue and Lavo sat out Aysha. The first tribe to get their large bag of rice through the water obstacles and on shore was Lavo. Rome started on the blind maze gate for Lavo until Tiyana for Tuku and Rachel for Gata caught up to work on theirs. Rachel got through quickly and gave Gata a lead on the final stage – here they turned duties over to Sam, Sierra and Anika to complete the snake trap. Eventually, Rome, Kishan and Genevieve got to the snake trap for Lavo and then in third place Tuku put the three men on the trap. With their time advantage and benefitting from a slip on the Tuku trap, Gata was able to slowly but surely get through the trap safely and win immunity and the first place reward. Tuku continued to struggle to communicate, making way for Lavo to catch up and earn the second spot for safety and the smaller reward. In defeat, TK lost his cool and expressed frustration that his tribe was smiling despite the loss. His discontent was directed explicitly at Tiyana who was telling Jeff that it’s important for them to remain positive. Sue clocked Tiyana’s reaction to TK throwing her under the bus in front of Jeff and hoped it would be the “nail in the coffin for him.”

9:02 p.m. – Gabe also noticed Tiyana’s reaction to TK’s comments, and so he also thought there was a potential crack to exploit between the two of them. He figured that he could play to his favor her “emotional state” in order to get a majority of votes against TK. In his own reaction to the loss, TK wanted to help the tribe execute perfection going forward with a mission to dictate how they should all behave and what mindset to keep to get on the right path. Kyle eventually went to TK hinting that Tiyana was rubbed the wrong way for not receiving an apology, but TK refused to apologize even if he still wanted to work with her on this vote. At this point, Kyle was left to mediate between the two of them where TK asked Tiyana to come to him directly with issues and Tiyana was willing to “separate emotion from gameplay” and committed to sticking to their alliance.

9:10 p.m. – Wanting to keep TK around for strength, Tiyana was on board with Kyle and TK’s idea to stick to voting out Sue this time. TK was under the impression that Gabe would do whatever he tells him to. Gabe told the guys that they’d have the four votes against Sue, but he wanted to stick with Sue and Caroline and so he put himself in the middle to pull Tiyana over to their side to avoid going to a tie. Caroline was not willing to go to a tie, so she and Sue wanted to approach Tiyana as a group of three women looking to go against the men against TK. Tiyana was unsure if she’d be willing to blindside TK though because it would damage her position with Kyle, which was a relationship she wanted to maintain.

9:20 p.m. – At tribal council, Sue jumped right in to the topic of the “bromance” and how their tribe immediately divided on gender lines. Tiyana agreed that the game started that way, but she wasn’t convinced that it was still a thing bonding the tribe. Gabe said that there’s no strict bromance and that he’s bonded with the women as well. TK thought that maybe it was a Sue problem and she wasn’t as comfortable socializing, but she insisted that the men projected an image of wanting to stick together. Gabe stressed that social relationships and strategic relationships are not necessarily the same thing in this game. The topic of idols put Gabe in the spotlight, but he tried to excuse his time away from camp as excitement for exploring a “Tarzan side” of being on an island and wanting to embrace the experience.

9:25 p.m. – As thunder began to roll in and rain fall on the circle, Jeff called the tribal council to a vote. Not feeling comfortable that the votes were going his way, Gabe played his idol for himself. Jeff read the votes: Sue, TK, Sue, TK, TK, TK. With the other four voting against his ally, the only one surprised by the vote was Kyle.

NEXT TIME: Anika asks if Sam and Sierra are dating and Rome gets cockier.
