8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Survivor’!” In the third episode, Anika, Kyle and Rome went on a journey in which Kyle and Anika each randomly lost their votes, while Rome earned a steal-a-vote. Gata and Tuku won the combined challenge and each took home the comfort kit reward and the immunity idol, which sent Lavo to tribal council for the first time. Lavo’s majority four alliance (Rome, Teeny, Kishan and Genevieve) had all the power, and some wanted to work with Aysha, but she had no interest in voting out her ally, Sol. The final vote ended up being 3–1–1–0 for Aysha, Sol, Genevieve and Rome (whose vote was negated when he played an idol).
8:02 p.m. – Upon returning to camp, Sol was disappointed to realize that Kishan and Teeny went against the plans they made with him to vote Rome out instead of Aysha. There was also a wonky vote for him that he couldn’t place. Teeny pulled him aside to confess to casting that vote against him and acknowledged that it “goes against every promise”that she made to him. He accepted her apology and told her that “this is a game” so she doesn’t need to hold on to it. The whole situation was a reminder to Teeny that she is a “sensitive” person and that she can’t easily be the villain player that she envisioned being.
8:06 p.m. – At Gata, Sierra was wrestling with how to move forward with Anika’s revelation that the other tribes have the impression that Sierra and Sam are dating. Sierra was content moving forward with not getting in her head, but aware of the fact that she needs the other players to not know that Sam is indeed her number one in the game. To that end, she wanted to make Rachel and Anika feel secure that the three of them as their “Bread Winners” alliance is strong.
8:09 p.m. – One of the strongest alliances at Tuku was still going strong–Gabe and Sue were sharing information and supporting each other through emotional moments. Privately, Sue was keeping from her tribe that she’s 58 and instead telling them that she’s 45. She also hadn’t disclosed to them that she’s a private and someone that is “looking for a rush.” One of the thrills she wanted to claim in the game was to find an idol–and so she did. She came across the freshly placed Beware Advantage that took her on a hunt to a tree with a rope she had to cut. When she chopped the rope, a coconut fell and broke, splashing red paint all over the ground and exposing her idol. To hide the paint, Sue tried to wash it away and cover it up with sand.
8:13 p.m. – Sue thought that she had covered all of the paint, but when Tiyana and Caroline saw her they noticed “blood” all over her hands, face and hair. They were concerned that she hurt herself, but Sue insisted she’s okay and that she just needs to go clean up. Tiyana knew that it was “B.S.” and so that made her suspicious of Sue.
8:19 p.m. – Knowing that used idols are typically placed back in the game, the Lavo tribe spent the afternoon hunting for an idol hoping to prevent Sol from being the one to find it. Rome offended Sol by telling him he shouldn’t be looking for an idol because it only makes the target on his back bigger. As the two of them continued to clash, Kishan adopted a strategy to manipulate the situation so that the tension between them would continue to rise. He knew that the more combative they got, the less likely it would be for them to ever work together. When Rome started to follow Sol around with a refusal to let him be on his own, Teeny and Genevieve took notice of how “rude” Rome was being. In a private conversation, Sol appreciated Genevieve’s kindess to him and said that he’d be an ally to her if it came down to it.
8:23 p.m. – While resting at camp, Sierra found a random Shot in the Dark on the ground and asked everyone to check their bags. Because everyone else had theirs, it was assumed to be Andy’s and so the alliance of women decided to just throw it back in the sand. Wanting to keep him close, Sam told Andy about it and advised him to go collect it without letting the others see. Sam wanted to make sure that Andy sticks around because he’s so loyal to him, but his sloppiness was starting to drive Sierra “nuts” and so she considered which of her alliances to stick with. In a conversation with Andy, she told him about the “Bread Winners” alliance and asked him not to tell anyone. That she shared the name meant a lot to Andy, but when Andy told Sam about the alliance name Sam was worried that she never told him about it. Sam approached Sierra about it, asking why she never came to him with the existence of this other alliance. That showed Sierra that Andy isn’t loyal to her and she needs to figure out what is best for her personal game.
8:32 p.m. – For their next challenge, the three tribes had to roll a heavy metal cube down a path to a bean bag toss through a stacked frame and then finished the race with a puzzle. The first tribe to finish earned immunity and a reward of three egg-laying hens. The second tribe to finish also earned immunity and earned six eggs.
8:35 p.m. – All three tribes got through the cube roll at the same time, but Kyle pulled into the lead for Tuku by building the frame to toss through first. Sol took the lead from Tuku by successfully tossing his two bags through his frame first, though. The third stage was a sandbag shuffle, which Lavo held their short lead through. In the fourth stage, the tribes remained even after digging through sand to find a key and each began working on their puzzle at the same time. For the puzzle, Caroline and Gabe worked for Tuku, Rome and Genevieve for Lavo, and Anika and Rachel for Gata. Rome and Genevieve “worked” very slowly and didn’t even have a single piece assembled by the time the other two tribes were nearly halfway done. In fact, Gata was able to complete the puzzle before Lavo had a piece on the board. As Tuku inched closer toward finishing in second, Jeff made a point of saying that Rome and Genevieve made no effort to switch gears or switch out to other players in order to get the puzzle together. In the end, Jeff called it “a puzzle that ended the same way it started.”
8:41 p.m. – Before sending the tribes on their way, Jeff announced a new journey and gave Gata the power to decide who from each tribe would go, with the caveat that they can’t send someone who has already been on one. Gata chose to send Andy from their own tribe and then Teeny from Lavo and Caroline from Tuku.
8:47 p.m. – With their newly won hens at camp, Gata began the debate over whether they should kill and eat them straight-away or actually keep them around for eggs. Sam was a proponent of killing at least one for the meat, but Sierra was steadfast in her belief that they shouldn’t kill them and keep getting the protein out of them through eggs. It was a second instance of the two close allies having a vastly different perspective on the game.
8:49 p.m. – At Lavo, Rome was willing to admit that he was “absolutely awful” at the puzzle and that it was embarrassing to not even place a single piece despite wanting to be the person in the “clutch position.” Fortunately from his perspective, he was protected by an alliance and felt comfortable that everyone he trusts would vote Sol out. Rome’s plan was to keep Sol from playing his Shot in the Dark by using his Steal a Vote in order to take Sol’s vote. That being said, his hope was that they could convince Sol to not play his Shot in the Dark so that the alliance could keep the power longer. Kishan suggested they give the name of Genevieve out to Sol, but Rome preferred to give Sol an “ultimatum.”
8:52 p.m. – Rome pulled Sol and essentially threatened him by declaring that he “will use the Steal a Vote on Genevieve if and only if” he gives him his Shot in the Dark or he’ll use the Steal a Vote on Sol instead. Sol called him out for the threat and considered it a “slap in the face.” The whole situation made Sol certain he never wants to work with Rome.
8:54 p.m. – Witnessing Rome’s “chaotic” play made Kishan wonder how long he’ll be able to truly trust that Rome’s style of play will be good for him and not turned against him. So, he went to Genevieve hoping to “switch the vote” on to Rome. Kishan felt like the move would leave Genevieve on her own and bring Sol under his wing for the rest of the game.
8:59 p.m. – On the journey, Caroline opened to Teeny and Andy about the early “bro alliance” at Tuku, Andy used the time to underscore that he’s the “social outcast” on his tribe, and Teeny said there’s an “ego battle” between Sol and Rome and so she’s expecting one of them to go home tonight. For their opportunity to earn an advantage, their note said that if one of them agrees to lose their vote at their next tribal council then they’ll share an advantage, but a failure to agree on that one person means they’d all lose their vote and no one would get the advantage. Andy said that he is next and can’t lose his vote and Caroline said the pieces at her tribe are “really, really shaky.” Because Teeny was going to tribal council next, she didn’t want to lose her vote, but she ran the numbers and decided that it “could work without my vote.” Teeny agreed to lose her vote and so the three of them earned the Amulet Idol. The caveat of the idol was that it’s inactive until they’re together living on the same beach and all active parts must be played together to work. It could be used as three, two, or one depending on which players with the amulet parts are still in the game. Andy recognized it as an “opportunity for peace and collaboration” or an “opportunity for warfare.”
9:07 p.m. – Teeny returned to Lavo admitting that she lost her vote while Caroline and Andy both brought out the “new amulet” immediately to show their tribes. Teeny told Genevieve and Kishan about the amulet as well, but they decided to keep the info away from Rome and Sol. Teeny was also pleased that they had began a plan to keep Sol around and vote Rome instead. Later, Rome told Genevieve that Kishan gave out her name as the one to give Sol as the decoy. That helped her realize that Rome is an asset to her personal game, but it was a “red flag” that Kishan doesn’t respect her game and isn’t intimidated so maybe she should turn the tide on Kishan instead. So, in order to switch things up, Genevieve told Rome that he’s going tonight and everyone is in on it because of Kishan’s plan. With this knowledge, Rome considered options between just voting Kishan out or stealing Kishan’s vote and taking out Sol instead anyway.
9:12 p.m. – Genevieve wanted Sol to work with her to vote Kishan out, but he refused because he sees no situation where he’ll work with Rome. To help build a bridge, Rome apologized to Sol with an acknowledgment that it’s just a game. It was unclear to Genevieve whether or not she’d have the numbers to “turn the tide” and she felt like a lot was still up in the air as they made their way to tribal council.
9:18 p.m. – At tribal council, Jeff told Rome he was “surprised” that he never stepped away from the puzzle in order for someone else to get in there and work on it. Sol then referred to the attitude back at camp as “chaos times ten,” recounting the conversation between him and Rome about the Steal a Vote threat. Sol made clear that he “didn’t appreciate” the approach despite it being smart, opening the door for Rome to once again apologize and acknowledge that he went about it the wrong way. Kishan’s perspective was that emotions can get out of hand in the game and players have to be “more strategic” than letting them get the best of them.
9:22 p.m. – Before getting to the vote, Rome made a declaration about trusting who he trusts that prompted Genevieve to giggle with a “spooky, scary” comment. She explained that it was starting to feel like “something’s happening” and that the decision tonight has to be right because if it’s wrong “it’s over for me.” She said the vote is “critical to the future success of my game.” Then, Rome stood up and played his Steal a Vote to take away Kishan’s power.
9:25 p.m. – While voting went down, Kishan and Teeny were “absolutely freaking out” with “no idea what’s about to happen” and Sol expressed in a whisper that he’s not sure what to do for himself. No one played an idol and Sol did not play his Shot in the Dark so Jeff read the votes: Kishan, Kishan, Kishan. Before getting up from his seat, Kishan whispered to Genevieve that he “trusted us three,” but Genevieve didn’t respond. After Kishan left, Genevieve told Teeny that she’ll “tell you later” why she did it.
