Swifties Say This Cockatoo Gives the ‘Best Performance of ‘Shake It Off’ I’ve Ever Seen’
Taylor Swift
A TikTok user recently posted a video of her pet cockatoo dancing and singing to her favorite artist, Taylor Swift. And one Swiftie declared it the "best performance of 'Shake It Off' I've ever seen."
On May 12, TikTok user @courtneyvucekovich posted a clip of her cockatoo named Arlita. "An ex boyfriend surprised me with an umbrella cockatoo 9 years ago that lives to be 80 and she will make anything about taylor swift," she captioned the update.
The video has attracted more than 5.7 million views and over 1 million likes, as of writing—and it isn't hard to see why.

At the beginning of the clip, the woman behind the camera said, "Hi Arlita!" to the bird, which repeated the phrase. As a different woman held the cockatoo on a perch and started singing, "You Are My Sunshine," Arlita had other plans.
"Shake it off, shake it off!" the bird sang while bobbing up and down. She continued repeating the line from Swift's 2014 smash hit while dancing until the video ended.
In the comments, Swifties couldn't get enough of Arlita's enthusiastic performance. "I want more content of her NOW," one TikTok user wrote.
Another person commented, "Her going 'shake it off' progressively faster ??," while another joked, "this MIGHT be taylor swift."
"Best cover of Shake It Off I've ever seen!! ????," someone else declared.
Meanwhile, another TikTok user commented, "Imagine it's the year 2074 and this bird re enacts the whole eras tour in someone's living room."

In a follow-up video, Arlita's owner showed the gorgeous bird dancing on a stand-alone perch as a recording of Swift's track played.
"I have heard shake it off everyday since 2014 and Arlita will perform it at my funeral because cockatoos live FOREVER," she captioned the clip.
"Taylor needs to give her the 22 hat," one person insisted in the comments.
Another quoted lyrics from Swift's song, "Clara Bow," writing, " You look like taylor swift in this light ?," while someone else suggested, "Take her to the eras tour rn ??."
