Swifties Gush Over Fan Project at Eras Tour Show in Germany
Taylor Swift’s fans have come up with some pretty inventive ways to celebrate the superstar as she has taken her hit international Eras Tour from one country to the next.
Earlier this month, the 14-time Grammy Award winner looked stunned as she reacted with excitement to the sight of fans holding up signs that all featured the same sweet message as she performed in Milan, Italy.
Days later, Swifties in Europe were latching onto another fan project. As seen in fan-captured footage from the “Cruel Summer” singer’s first show in Hamburg, Germany, audience members throughout Volksparkstadion began holding up small orange and yellow balloons, which they used their phones to illuminate. They performed this display of love for Swift during her performance of “willow,” a song from the pop star’s 2020 album evermore.
“That's amazing ??,” a fan said in reaction to a video of the moment that a Swift fan account shared on X, formerly Twitter.
“It’s unbelievable,” another fan agreed.
“Just wow ??,” one Swiftie commented as another dubbed the fan project “iconic.”

“Love the orbs ??,” one fan tweeted in response to another fan-posted video that showed balloons seemingly everywhere in the stadium. The gesture “must make her feel soooo good! ?? ?? ??,” they added.

The project first started earlier this month by a trio of Swifties who brought balloons into the Johan Cruijff Arena during one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Amsterdam, Netherlands, according to USA Today. Their idea took off after other concertgoers shared footage of their illuminated orbs online, inspiring fans in other cities to replicate the timing and look of the balloons.
The “Fortnight” singer even acknowledged the trend during a performance last week in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. "I was cracking up the whole time,” Swift told her audience, according to USA Today. She added praise for the gesture, calling her fans “so thoughtful.”
