The countdown to the Golden Globes is on — and Saturday marked the official kickoff with The Road to the Golden Globes Party at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. To mark the occasion, Pamela Anderson, Amy Adams, Ana de Armas, Sydney Sweeney, Demi Moore, Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Kirby, and more brought dramatic looks to the red carpet and embraced a gothic palette.

Fresh off the deconstructed, tailored menswear look she wore to the premiere of her latest project, “The Last Showgirl,” Pamela Anderson opted for another black suit. The actress, who stars in Gia Coppola’s new film about a Las Vegas showgirl reckoning with the end of her career, went with a relaxed fit this time. Anderson wore a minimalist black jacket with elongated sleeves tucked into a pair of loose-fitting trousers, which she paired with pointy-toed heels and a ponytail and red lip.

Amy Adams

Amy Adams brought sparkle to the red carpet last night in a dramatic navy gown by Prada. The cady dress, inspired by Prada’s spring 2009 collection, was adorned with metal and crystal sculpture-like details. Adams, who is at TIFF to premiere her latest film, “Nightbitch,” accessorized the off-the-shoulder gown with a pair of brushed leather platform sandals and a clutch by Prada.

Switching gears from the pale pink Louis Vuitton dress she wore to the premiere of her and Sydney Sweeney’s new film “Eden,” Ana de Armas wore a black dress with black platform sandals. Similarly, de Armas opted for another high-low hem and paired the sleeveless floral-embossed dress with a layered necklace and glittering bracelets.

Coordinated with her co-star Ana de Armas once again, Sweeney wore a black velvet Alexander McQueen gown consisting of a plunging, cutout filled in with mesh and floral applique. Sweeney’s turtle-neck gown was styled by Molly Dickson, who also curated the floral Erdem tea-length dress and matching cape that Sweeney wore to the “Eden” premiere.

Demi Moore styled herself for “The Road to the Golden Globes Party,” wearing Proenza Schouler’s Delancey dress in glossy red leather. She accessorized the minimal dress, which features a wrap-tie skirt, with a pair of red sandal heels by Aquazzura and Tiffany & Co.’s HardWear Link diamond-encrusted gold earrings. Earlier in the weekend, Moore attended the premiere of her latest film, “The Substance,” in a tailored look off the runway of Thom Browne’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection.

The nominations for the Golden Globes will be announced on December 9th, and the 82nd installment of the awards show will take place on January 5th and air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT.
