Sylvester Stallone to appear as himself in ‘This Is Us’
In Season 2 of This Is Us, Sylvester Stallone will be making a great appearance as… Sylvester Stallone. The star gave fans a behind-the-scenes look over the weekend via his Instagram account, sharing photos with This Is Us cast members Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, and, of course, Milo Ventimiglia.

Stallone will be playing himself alongside Kevin, Hartley’s character, in a war movie directed by Ron Howard, who will also appear and be playing himself. Stallone will be a kind of father figure for Kevin in the episode. This Is Us creator Dan Fogleman said that Stallone has a big part, but is only expected to appear in one episode.
Stallone had a connection to the show long before stepping on set. Ventimiglia played Rocky’s son in the 2006 movie Rocky Balboa, and it was that connection that got Stallone on the show.
As Ventimiglia told Entertainment Tonight, “When the producers said to me, ‘Hey, we envision a guy like Sly.’ And I went, ‘That’s amazing.’ And they looked at me and I’m like, ‘Oh, you want me to call him. Got you. Yeah, I’ll call Sly. I’ll call Sly.’ So I phoned him and we had a couple nice conversations and then he was on board.”
