Julien’s Auctions is set to auction a pair of shoes that hold a special place in cinematic history. The record-breaking auction house, based in Beverly Hills, Calif, will accept bids on the Jordan brand boxing shoes custom made for Sylvester Stallone to train for the 2006 film “Rocky Balboa.” The shoes are part of Jordan Brand’s boxing shoe line made in collaboration with champion fighter Roy Jones, Jr.

Stallone’s boxing shoe is black with a while sole and branding representing both Jordan and Jones. The iconic Jumpman logo is displayed on the sides of the boot as well as the tongue, where it sits below the name “Jones” written in capital letters. Proving the shoes were indeed made for a particular person, Stallone’s nickname “Sly” is inscribed on the tongue.

The shoes will be a part of Julien’s “Legends in Motion” auction, the company’s inaugural sale in Hong Kong taking place on Sept. 28. The current bid on the product as of Sept. 23 is $2,000. Interested customers can register to bid here. Notably, another pair of these bespoke shoes sold in a 2021 Julien’s auction at price of $10,240. Moreover, the auction house sold a pair of the yellow lace-up Nike boxing boots that fans would recognize from “Rocky III” for $62,500.

Jones first signed with Michael Jordan and Nike’s Jordan Brand in 1999, which led to a signature line of boxing boots. The shoes listed Jones’ championship titles in different weight classes on the bottom sole; they also featured RJJ embossed on the leather upper in addition to the boxer’s last name on the tongue.

While the Jones line has been discontinued — and fondly remembered and coveted by the boxing community in the present day — Jordan Brand continues to be involved with the popular combat sport. Earlier this year, Devin Haney collaborated with Jordan Brand on an exclusive Jordan 1, drawing design inspiration from his late grandmother.

“Don’t be surprised if you see me and Jordan Brand doing a full partnership soon,” Haney told FN. “My dream is to have my own boxing shoe, like Roy Jones once did,’ Haney said. “I want to make the boxing part [of Jordan Brand] bigger. We’ve never really had a big boxing capsule, a boxer has never done it before.”

Beyond boxing, Nike’s Jordan Brand imprint continues to expand its roster of athletes. Brothers Zion and Zachariah Branch, who play football at USC, were signed as Nike’s first football NIL athletes.
