Tamera Mowry revealed that she “found out with the rest of the world” about her twin sister Tia’s upcoming reality series on WEtv, titled Tia Mowry: My Next Act, due Oct. 4.

“Tia is living her life right now, and Tia is doing Tia,” the Sister, Sister star told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview.

News of My Next Act came earlier this year in April, debuting during parent company AMC Network’s New York 2024 Upfronts Presentation. As per the logline and a new preview dropped yesterday, the series will follow Tia as she experiences life on her own, separate from her sister with whom she has grown up in the public eye and newly divorced from ex-husband and fellow actor Cory Hardrict (The Chi, All American: Homecoming), with whom she shared a 14-year marriage. My Next Act will trace Tia’s professional and personal challenges, as she juggles motherhood, dating and more.

In the teaser for the series, Tia admitted, “Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce. It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her, but that’s just not where we are right now.”

When asked if Tamera might join the series down the line, the Twitches actress responded, “Uh, she didn’t ask me. So I take that as, no! No, she’s like, this is my story, and you know, I can only respect that.” Previously, the two sisters starred alongside one another in The Style Network’s reality series Tia & Tamera, which ran for three seasons in the early 2010s.

She continued, speaking to whether her husband Adam Housley and she have been setting Tia up on dates (given that the new show follows her single life): “I feel like she doesn’t want any of our input right now … and I can only respect that. So I think she is doing her. I’m just respecting that.”
