Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese Visit John Singleton in the Hospital Amid Family Battle Over Director’s Health

As John Singleton‘s family fights over his care, Taraji P. Henson and Tyrese paid the legendary director a visit in the hospital to show support for their close friend.

The “Empire” star shared an old photo of the trio and gave fans an update on Singleton’s condition.

“Visited you today,” she wrote. “Me and @tyrese prayed so hard over you. You heard my voice and jumped up. I HAVE HOPE AND FAITH BECAUSE I KNOW THAT #GODIS. Keep praying EVERYBODY for our beloved @johnsingleton.”

Tyrese commented on the photo, writing, “Heavy heart, state of shock but there was something powerful about feeling the presence of God that gave us the reassurance that God is going to pull him through this……… The idea that me and taraji prayed hard over john so much history so much genuine love….. We can only hope and keep praying that God brings him back to us!!!!!!!!!”

As The Blast previously reported, John Singleton’s daughter, Cleopatra, says her father’s health is not as bad as her grandmother makes it out to be. She claims he is not in a coma but rather he is “medically sedated to keep his blood pressure low and allow the vessels in his brain to heal.”

Singleton’s mother, Sheila Ward, wants to be named his conservator but Cleopatra claims Ward has “abused” her position as Singleton’s manager and has “stated she plans to liquidate his assets immediately and leave his children with nothing.”

The “Boyz n the Hood” director suffered a stroke earlier this month and has been hospitalized ever since.
