Taylor Just Skipped Travis’ Game Again After He Admitted to Playing Like ‘Trash’
While she’s usually the Kansas City Chiefs’ lucky charm, for the second Sunday in a row, Taylor Swift has skipped Travis Kelce’s game—this time against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The pop superstar was notably absent from her boyfriend’s football game on September 29, 2024, at SoFi Stadium. Swift had been a regular fixture at Arrowhead Stadium for Kelce’s first two home games of the season, renewing much of the media attention that came with her appearances last season. But it seems she’s hitting pause on her football fandom, at least for now.

So, where’s Taylor? Well, she’s likely catching her breath before diving back into her whirlwind Eras Tour. The “Anti-Hero” singer is set to kick off the North American leg of her tour in Miami on October 18th, giving her a few weeks of downtime. Last we saw her, she was painting the town red with Gigi Hadid in New York City on September 21st.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have been on a winning streak, clinching victory in all three of their games so far. But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Kelce. The tight end recently got candid about his performance on “New Heights,” the podcast he co-hosts with his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce.
“I played like trash,” Kelce said of his last game against the Falcons, showing he’s not afraid to call himself out. He elaborated, “Everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter. I’m gonna get it right, don’t worry.” Kelce chalked it up to “trying to do too much” and noted the challenges posed by opposing teams’ defensive strategies.
But let’s be clear: we’re not about to blame Swift for any of Kelce’s on-field struggles. As the man himself put it, “Everyone’s just tweaking their game in the right direction… You’re gonna go through these ups and downs throughout the season.”
In other Kelce news, he’s been flexing his acting muscles in Ryan Murphy’s new series, Grotesquerie. Murphy shared some insights with E! about Swift’s support for Kelce’s foray into acting, saying, “The only thing that [Travis and I] talked about was that she’s very supportive of him, and if he has an interest, she wanted him to try it.”
As for Swift’s game-day appearances, they’ve certainly added an extra layer of excitement (and security concerns) to Chiefs matches. But the “Shake It Off” singer has been clear about her intentions. In a December interview with Time, she explained, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Will she make an appearance at the next game? Only time will tell. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see if Kelce makes good on his promise to “get it right” on the field.
