Taylor Russell Embraces Ethereal Elegance in Custom Loewe at the Premiere of ‘Maria’ During the Venice Film Festival 2024
Taylor Russell favored an effortless, ethereal style for the 2024 Venice Film Festival red carpet on Thursday. The actress attended the premiere of Pablo Larraín’s “Maria,” starring Angelina Jolie as famed Opera singer Maria Callas.
For the red carpet event, Russell wore a custom strapless chiffon midi dress courtesy of Loewe. The delicate dress featured a flowing skirt and defined waist, with subtle fabric ruching on the bodice. The dress also featured a slit in the front and the addition of a scarf element, which framed Russell’s shoulders and flowed down the actress’ back.

Along with her ethereal sartorial statement, Russell wore strappy sandal heels courtesy of Amina Muaddi. Russell accessorized her ensemble with delicate pieces of silver jewelry, including bracelet, necklace and earrings, by Tiffany & Co. The actress’ entire look was curated by Jahleel Weaver, who’s also worked with Rihanna.
Loewe named Russell a global ambassador in November 2022. Among the first collaborations Russell completed with the Spanish luxury fashion house was a campaign for the spring 2023 pre-collection, which was photographed by Juergen Teller.
Russell became acquainted with Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe, when director Luca Guadagnino introduced the two. Russell starred in Guadagnino’s 2022 film “Bones and All”; Anderson collaborated with the filmmaker on the costumes for his latest picture, “Challengers.”
Backstage after the spring 2023 Loewe show, Anderson spoke about Russell’s star power. “When I was thinking of this collection, I had been thinking about Taylor Russell opening this show.…I just thought there was something about this precision in someone who is ultimately about the future of acting, or the future of performance.”
