Taylor Swift Fans Lose It Over Eras Tour Lyric Change During Emotional Surprise Song
Taylor Swift may have just dealt the final blow to her fans, as many Swifties aren't sure they'll survive after her latest surprise song mashup.
During her Eras Tour performance in Liverpool, England on Friday, June 14, Swift came out swinging with her surprise song choices for the acoustic set, which consists of different songs every night.
When she sat down at the piano during Friday's show, the 14-time Grammy winner started to play her Midnights deep cut "The Great War," which she eventually mashed together with one of her most pointed heartbreak songs ever: "You're Losing Me."
And not only did the lethal combo leave Swifties broken and blue, but the "Fortnight" songstress made the performance even more piercing by changing the lyrics.
Instead of singing the usual line, "I vowed not to cry anymore if we survived the great war," Swift sang, "I vowed not to cry anymore if I survived the great war."
Swifties took the lyric change to be a direct reference to the singer's breakup from former lover Joe Alwyn, who is believed to be the inspiration behind both of the songs in Friday night's medley.
"SHE CHANGED THE 'WE' TO 'I' YES GURL YOU DID SURVIVE ??," one social media user exclaimed on Instagram after seeing footage of the emotional performance.
Another commenter theorized, "She changed the lyrics to say they didn’t survive it, that the Great War turned into you’ re losing me and 'we actually lost it' and she came out of it alone, and she did it on her own. From 'We survived the Great War' to 'I survived the Great War' ??."
"From 'thought I lost you' to 'you're losing me.' ?? She survived on the front lines," someone else added.

Other fans were left completely speechless over the two crushing songs being mixed together, including one person who wrote online, "why'd she do this me."
"I'm not okay," wrote another.
