Taylor Swift Fans Are 'Screaming' Over Travis Kelce Rocking a '70s-Style Wig in New Ad
Travis Kelce’s hair and beard lengths may have changed over the course of the 2023 NFL season, but fans were not expecting to see the NFL star rocking a '70s-style wig in a new ad he shared on social media.
Kelce, 34, posted the photo on Instagram on Sunday, June 30. The ad for Accelerator, an energy drink, showed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wearing a brown 1970s-styled blazer with a blue and yellow patterned tie and large black-rimmed glasses. His dark brown hair was styled longer than he usually keeps it cut, stretching farther than normal over his forehead. Those particular details told fans immediately that the hair must be fake.
Kelce flashed a smile for the ad as he held up a can of the energy drink to show off its label. “Only fun things ahead with the greatest energy drink in the game ?? @drinkaccelerator,” he captioned the image.
The post included two additional photos, one of which showed Kelce tipping a can of the beverage back to take a long swig and the second showing him posing with gymnast Livvy Dunne as both held cans of the energy drink.
The ad—and Kelce's '70s-style wig'—drew a ton of responses from fans of pop star Taylor Swift, who has been dating the professional football player for nearly a year.
“The fella over there with the hella good hair ??,” one Swiftie wrote, quoting a line from Swift’s hit “Shake It Off.”
“*So High School starts playing*,” another fan wrote, referencing a song from the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, that Swifties believe was inspired by Kelce.
“First pic lowkey traumatizing,” one fan noted as another approved, writing, “Professor Kelce reporting for class ????.”
One of Swift’s Eras Tour dancers also left a top-liked comment on the post. Kam Saunders, who has become beloved among fans of the “Cruel Summer” songstress for his turns of phrase during performances of her song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” wrote, “Yo! This WIG!!!!! I am screaming ??????????.”
The official Instagram account for New Heights, the podcast Kelce co-hosts with his older brother Jason, also left an emoji-filled comment on the ad, writing simply, “??????.”
