Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Were Trying to ‘Portray’ This to the Public at the US Open, per Body Language Experts
Ever since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance hit the mainstream, fans couldn’t be more split on them. Some believe it’s true love, while others are convinced it’s all for PR, especially after that alleged showmance contract went viral. (For those who don’t know, that ended up being a school paper, per Page Six!)
Recently, the pair have been upping the ante with public appearances, including a PDA-filled one at the US Open on Sept 8. And a body language expert claims that she believes they were allegedly playing up their romance for the camera.

UK-based body language expert Judi James talked to DailyMail about Swift and Kelce’s PDA-filled, singing, and controversial appearance at the US Open. She analyzed it all, saying she believes they’re trying to “portray” a certain story for the camera.
“When you’re trying to disprove ‘fauxmance’ rumors, the most effective and convincing route is to laugh them off. Ignore them,” she said. “They should be water off the proverbial duck’s back to a couple in love, but for a high-profile, A-list power couple whose relationship is a meeting of brands as well as minds and hearts it will be tempting to perform the gruesome and challenging ‘denial’ ritual that involves proving to the world that your emotions have been not been forged in some PR’s office.”
She added, “Taylor and Travis appear to have taken the ‘human emoji’ route to proving their passion to the world by adopting a series of poses here that emphatically define a very dreamy, idealistic version of being in love.”
However, even despite playing it up, James does believe their embraces and PDA were actually genuine.
“If this were any one other than the ever-enthusiastic Taylor these might look like over-kill rituals,” she added. “But she and Travis have never fought shy of the cameras since they hooked up, or been understated in their PDAs which needs to be factored in when it comes to any accusations of a lack of authenticity… Taylor is a woman who adorably throws herself into everything with total, cosplay-style commitment and effort.”
For those who don’t know, Kelce and Swift have been dating since July 2023, but didn’t make their romance known until months later, when Swift arrived at one of his games. (Kelce even talked about his crush on her on his podcast with his brother months prior to this.)
Since then, they’ve been cheering one another on, whether it be at her Eras tour shows or his football games!
In a previous appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in Jan 2024, he talked about how he helps cheer her on, and how it truly makes him feel amazing when she does.
“I love it when Taylor comes and supports me and enjoys the game with the fam and friends,” he said. “…We’re just two people supporting each other and having fun with it, man. It’s nothing more than that, and how much the world wants to paint the picture and make us the enemy, we just have fun with it, and we enjoy every single bit of it.”
