Jake Tankersley (4-CHAIR TURN)
Age: 31
Hometown: Sand Springs, OK
Resident: Claremore, OK
Jake has been raising kids alongside his wife, Ashleigh, since he was 19. He met Ashleigh when he was just 18, and it was love at first sight after a mutual friend introduced them. Within a year, they were married and a month after the wedding, they learned they were expecting a baby boy. By the time Jake was 24, he was already a father of four. Working full-time as a worship leader to support his family, it’s a miracle Jake found time to work on his craft. Music has been a significant part of his life since childhood. Jake’s dad introduced him to Elvis when he was 6, and he soon fell in love with country music. Growing up, Jake often performed at talent shows with the guitar his dad gave him when he was 9. Currently, Jake gigs every weekend at bars and restaurants across Oklahoma. He schedules his performances in the evenings after his kids go to sleep, and, when possible, the whole family comes to watch him do what he loves.
DREION (4-CHAIR TURN)
Age: 27
Hometown: Omaha, NE
Resident: Providence, RI
DREION has always been fascinated with percussion instruments. His interest began watching his uncle play in church and when he started singing professionally, DREION sought a way to incorporate percussion without using a traditional drum set. One day, he brought a cowbell on stage, then a few more and eventually created a “cowbell tree.” This unique setup has become a staple in all his shows. For the past two years, DREION has been the opening act for Earth, Wind & Fire. Not only does he get to perform with the legendary group, but he also has the chance to make a meaningful impact. He initially connected with Earth, Wind & Fire through a foundation called Music Is Unity, which aims to inspire foster youth aging out of the system. Having spent time in the foster system himself, DREION understands the challenges involved. In addition to his performance opportunities, DREION is also a songwriter. He holds a bachelor’s degree in songwriting from Berklee College of Music, an education made possible by the Gates Millennium Scholarship awarded by Bill Gates
Georgia Starnes (4-CHAIR TURN)
Age: 21
Hometown: Dallas, TX
Resident: Los Angeles, CA
Born and raised in Texas, Georgia moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in modeling and music. Her mom, Kelly, recently joined her in L.A., and they’ve affectionately dubbed their home the bachelorette pad as both Georgia and Kelly are single. Performing has always felt natural to Georgia since she was a little girl, which led her to attend a prestigious performing arts high school in Dallas. Now in L.A., she gigs as often as possible around the city, with “The Voice” being her biggest stage yet. When she’s not performing or modeling, Georgia supports herself by bartending at events and working as a restaurant host and server. Although Georgia has found success in modeling, she sees it as a stepping stone rather than her ultimate goal. “The Voice” appeals to her because it offers an opportunity to showcase her vocal talent.
Torre Blake (2-CHAIR TURN)
Age: 30
Hometown: Austin, TX
Resident: West Hollywood, CA
Torre comes from a distinguished legacy of athletes. Her father, former NFL quarterback Jeff Blake, played for several teams, leading Torre to move frequently during her childhood. Music and sports were her comforts during these relocations. Once settled in Austin, Torre focused on sports and secured a college education through athletics. Torre wanted to pursue musical theater in college but ultimately, after accepting a volleyball scholarship, was unable to pursue both. After graduating, Torre was determined to immerse herself in music. She dove into the Austin music scene and began songwriting and performing. In 2022, Torre moved to L.A. to advance her music career and took a job in entertainment for stability and community. Now, she’s ready for “The Voice” and take the next step to becoming a full-time artist.
ChrisDeo (2-CHAIR TURN)
Age: 16
Hometown: Queens, NY
Resident: Queens, NY
ChrisDeo is a 16-year-old self-taught, multi-instrumentalist and first-generation American. Her mother was born in Trinidad and Tobago, and her father is from Guyana. After her parents divorced when she was young, ChrisDeo was raised by her resilient mother in the Queens projects. Despite the challenges of their surroundings, her home was a sanctuary of peace and solace. Both ChrisDeo and her older sister, Aaliah, find comfort in the music that surrounds the walls of their home. ChrisDeo’s passion for music truly blossomed in 2016 when her mother enrolled her and her sister in the NYCHA Youth Choir. There, ChrisDeo decided to teach herself piano chords, which opened the door to a world of instruments. Recently, she completed a program for low-income high school students at the NYU Clive Davis Institute where she learned to produce and record her own music. As a result, ChrisDeo has set up a makeshift home studio where she records covers and writes her songs. You can often find this high school senior busking with the cityscape as her backdrop.
MisterMoon (2-CHAIR TURN)
Leah Colon and SAVS
Ages: 26 & 28
Hometown:Tulsa, OK / Visalia, CA
Resident: Nashville, TN
During their brainstorming sessions for the band name, Leah and Sav were drawn to celestial themes. Initially considering “Sister Moon,” MisterMoon emerged, inspired by their shared love for the moon and a desire to infuse some masculinity into the name. Leah and Sav met in 2021 through Leah’s partner, who knew the two girls would hit it off. A casual meet-up in Nashville quickly evolved into a deep conversation about their mutual love for music. Despite never hearing each other sing, Sav spontaneously suggested they perform a gig in New York together, and two days later, they found themselves on a road trip from Nashville to NYC. Their impromptu performance was a hit and kicked off several performances around Music City. They recently recorded their self-titled debut EP and are back in the studio working on their second project together. Throughout their lives, the two have undergone various difficulties in health, family life and sexuality, and MisterMoon has become a beacon of hope, freedom and acceptance. The two have not only nurtured a story of friendship, but have brought their two musical journeys into something bigger than themselves.
Michael Alexandersson (2-CHAIR TURN)
Age: 26
Hometown: Anaheim, CA
Resident: Salado, TX
Coming from a musical family, music has been a central part of Michael’s life. His great-grandfather, Paul Alexandersson, had three hits in Sweden in the 1930s. His father played alongside legends such as Fats Domino and Percy Sledge and was the original frontman for the Blue Eyed Soul Revue. Michael began accompanying his dad to gigs at a young age, sometimes joining him on stage. At 16, Michael was discovered by a modeling agent and soon found himself walking the catwalk for Yves Saint Laurent in Paris. The fashion industry’s instant success and fast-paced lifestyle overwhelmed him, leading him down a dark path. Michael’s modeling career ended within a few years, but it was a wake-up call that prompted him to get clean. In 2022, Michael was profoundly impacted when his Uncle Pauly lost his battle with addiction and tragically passed away. Michael is pursuing his dreams honoring his uncle’s life and love of music.
Christina Eagle (1-CHAIR TURN)
Age: 23
Hometown: Catawba, NC
Resident: Maiden, NC
Christina grew up in a household always filled with music. From the moment she could speak, she was singing. Christina’s mom fondly remembers her running up on stage at church to grab the mic. Christina has always maintained a positive outlook despite starting her life amidst tragedy. Her teen father was tragically killed in a car crash just before Christina was born, and when she was only 1, her mother also lost her life in a fatal car accident. Christina was raised by her mother’s parents, whom she calls “mom and dad,” making her siblings her uncles. Since Christina was so young when she lost her parents, she has no memory of them and couldn’t have asked for better parents to raise her. Although processing the grief of losing her parents before she knew them has been challenging, expressing her feelings through music has helped her find solace. Now, Christina spends two to three days a week honing her skills by gigging at local bars in her small town with her older brother, Daniel. While their musical aspirations differ, they both enjoy performing together as a duo.
