Miley Cyrus and her team of ladies were feeling it on The Voice Tuesday with a fierce performance of the Shania Twain classic “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.” But the good feelings came crashing down when Miley lost one of her singers.

The bottom two contestants were Adam Levine‘s country singer, Adam Cunningham, and Janice Freeman from Team Miley. Despite Adam’s being in the bottom two for the second straight week and making mistakes during his performances, he was the one America decided to save. Janice was sent home, just missing the top 10.

Everyone was shocked by the decision, including Cunningham’s own coach. The look on Levine’s face was priceless. Before America saved the country singer again, Miley was already emotional about the possibility of losing Janice. “If anybody deserves to stick around in this competition, it is you,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer told Janice. “You are a fighter. You are a warrior. You are a role model. And more than any of that, you are The Voice. I am in complete shock.”

Even though Janice’s time on The Voice was cut short, it will be something that she’ll cherish for the rest of her life. As tears streamed down her face, she told Miley, “You have been the best thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life and I appreciate you, like, you have a friend for life.”

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Voice for free on Yahoo View.
