A nationally acclaimed rapper will return to a Springfield stage this fall.
Tech N9ne is performing at the Gillioz Theatre at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday on the Gillioz Theatre website at gillioztheatre.com/event/tech-n9ne/gillioz-theatre/e-springfield-missouri/. X-Raided, a rapper from Sacramento, California, will open the concert.
Tech N9ne, stage name of Aaron Dontez Yates, was born and raised in Kansas City. He is popularly known for hit singles like "Face Off," "Like I Ain't" and "Erbody But Me." In 1999, he co-founded independent record label Strange Music with Travis O'Guin.
Tech N9ne has released four platinum singles, eleven gold singles and two gold albums. In 2009, he received the Left-Field Woodie Award at the MTVu Music Awards. This award was granted to an artist whose music couldn't be categorized into a single genre. The voter-choice awards were held between 2004-2017.
Over the years, Tech N9ne has worked with Eminem, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, The Doors, Slipknot, Deftones, Jelly Roll and Machine Gun Kelly.
