Ted Boss Seth MacFarlane on Lori Loughlin’s ‘Role’ in Raunchy Peacock Prequel — Watch Video
Nineteen years before he married Mila Kunis’ Lori Collins, John Bennett’s heart belonged to a different Lori.

How major, you ask? So major that he had a poster of TV’s Aunt Becky taped to his bedroom wall, which he looked at every night as he’d drift off to sleep. He’d even dream about their future wedding gracing the cover of People magazine.
“God, Lori Loughlin’s f–king gorgeous,” he says in Episode 1. “That woman can do no wrong.”

Loughlin, of course, could do wrong. Like, eventually serve time in prison for doing wrong. But the series takes place 26 years before the When Calls the Heart star was implicated in the infamous college admissions scandal of 2019 — and in teenage John’s eyes, Lori Loughlin is a saint. The same was true for teenage Seth MacFarlane, who also came of age during Full House‘s initial run on ABC.
“God, I remember when I was in school. The crush on Lori Loughlin, that was a real thing,” the Ted creator tells TVLine. Apparently, though, we’ve all been pronouncing her name wrong — MacFarlane included.
“It’s Loughlin, which I didn’t know,” he admits, sounding it out phonetically. “I’ve always said Loughlin (laa·flin), but apparently it’s Loughlin (lo·kluhn). I have to rethink everything.”
