‘Tell Me Lies’ Sets Season 2 Premiere Date; First Look At Tom Ellis & More New Cast Members

Tell Me Lies Season 2 will return Wednesday, September 4.

The second season of the Hulu Original series will debut two episodes that day, with the remaining six episodes following one per week.

More from Deadline

The eight-episode installment will start with Lucy Albright’s (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco’s (Jackson White) return to college after they broke up at the start of the summer. They aren’t speaking to each other after the dramatic events.

The logline reads, “Yet while very much at odds, they find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic – which is as infuriating as it is inescapable. Meanwhile, the story expands deeper into the lives of Lucy and Stephen’s friend group, as the fallout from Season 1 impacts all of their lives in unexpected ways.”

As Deadline broke exclusively, Tom Ellis (Lucifer) will join Season 2 as a series regular in the role of Oliver, a professor at Baird College whose tough love attitude makes him an intimidating presence that isn’t appreciated by all students. He is married to Lucy’s professor Marianne (Gabriella Pession), but as one of the main characters begins seeking his approval, his influence will have chaotic repercussions.

Jacob Rodriguez and Katherine Hughes will also join Season 2 in recurring roles. Thomas Doherty (Gossip Girl) will appear in a recurring guest role, Leo, a junior at Baird who returns to campus after studying abroad for a year and finds himself immediately drawn to Lucy.

Rodriguez (Attaway General) will play Chris, the good-looking brother of Lydia (Natalee Linez) who is excited about attending Baird. He’s friendly, good-natured and takes an interest in Pippa (Sonia Mena).

Hughes (Me, Earl, & The Dying Girl) will play Molly, a confident, upfront friend of Diana’s (Alicia Crowder), who takes an interest in one of the lead boys.

Tell Me Lies, based on the book by Carola Lovering, follows a tumultuous and intoxicating relationship that unfolds over eight years and affects all those around it. The group of college friends in its wake get pulled into a mess of betrayal, sex and lies that will change their lives forever.
