Terran ‘TK’ Foster (‘Survivor 47’ exit interview): ‘By this decision, they don’t value winning much’
On Wednesday’s second episode of “Survivor 47,” the gender divide between women and a budding “bromance” at Tuku deepened when frustrations were expressed following a hard-fought immunity challenge loss. Terran “TK” Foster believed in a winning attitude and didn’t appreciate that his tribe mates smiled through the loss, but throwing them under the bus showed a crack in an alliance that ultimately became his downfall. Read on for his “Survivor 47” exit interview from the end of the episode.
As a competitor, TK left the game in good spirits and could respect the blindside that was pulled against him. “It was a great move,” he said on his way out. “I mean, I can’t be mad at it.” The blindside came at the hands of Tiyana Hallums and Gabe Ortis who he pulled in for a four-person alliance with Kyle Ostwald earlier in the episode. TK believed that Gabe would do whatever he told him to and that Tiyana and him had a solid three to the end with Kyle. What TK missed is that Tiyana felt sidelined by TK’s comments after their loss and didn’t know if she’d be willing to choose strategy over personality going forward.

Following the immunity challenge loss, Jeff Probst asked Tiyana about why the tribe was still so smiling and she offered a positive outlook to boost morale. TK responded that he believes in a winning mentality, doesn’t value anyone that is okay with losing and declared that he doesn’t want to play with anyone that is okay with losing.
TK’s comments felt targeted to Tiyana and her facial reaction was clocked by both Gabe and Sue Smey who were both already looking for a crack to break up TK’s dominance in the tribe. From Sue’s perspective, TK was the head of a bromance attitude among the men at camp that left her and the other women without power. Sue was able to sway Tiyana over to her side in order to hold the majority to securely vote TK out.
“I felt like I had some really good connections, but maybe my personality was a little too ripe,” TK considered after his elimination. While he was able to acknowledge what put him on the outs with the tribe, he held fast to his confidence and competitive outlook. “Me showing a lot of emotion at the end of that last challenge put some more fingers toward me, but if they don’t value winning, they don’t value winning, and honestly by this decision, they don’t value winning much.” Still, despite his own loss in this game as the second elimination, TK found a positive takeaway of his own: “I’m just excited for whatever happens in the future because this just proves to me that there’s nothing I’ll be afraid of in life.”
