Terrell Owens pulled up to the 2024 ESPY Awards wearing the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Phantom” sneakers.
The Hall of Fame receiver, whose son recently signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent, has long worn sneakers to the event — even before sneaker culture became more mainstream. As far back as 2007, he could be seen wearing Nike Air Force 1 Lows on the red carpet.
The Travis Scott x Air Jordan Low “Phantom” released in 2022 with the all-black look interrupted only by white contrast stitching. In addition to the rapper’s signature backwards Swoosh, the shoe features a the left shoe features an embroidered bee on the heel tab as a nod to his daughter, Stormi.
Originally retailing for $150, this pair of Travis Scott AJ1 Lows now sells for up to $1,000 on the resale market.
The Air Jordan 1 Low has quickly become the most prolific model for Travis Scott collaborations. Since 2019, seven different colorways have released, the most recent being a white, yellow and blue pair inspired by Elkins High, where he went to school in Missouri City, Texas. Several new editions of the sneaker are also expected to release later this year and in 2025.
2024 has also seen the introduction of Scott’s first signature sneaker from Jordan Brand, the Jordan CJ1 T-Rexx (aka the Jumpman Jack). He’s also expected to get his own model from Nike, dubbed either Sharkidon or Zoom Field Jaxx.
