Terry McMillan Partners With Lifetime On New Original Movies
New York Times bestselling author Terry McMillan (How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Waiting to Exhale) has partnered with Lifetime to executive produce several new original movies under the banner, “Terry McMillan Presents.” Her new movies for the network, which will be announced at a later time, will focus on the love and lives of African American women.
Lifetime previously collaborated with McMillan on the 2014 TV movie A Day Late and a Dollar Short featuring Whoopi Goldberg, Mekhi Phifer, Anika Noni Rose, Kimberly Elise, Tichina Arnold and Ving Rhames.

McMillan is the No. 1 NYT Bestselling author of 12 books, including Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back, which were both adapted into major motion pictures. Her debut novel Mama won the Doubleday New Voices Award as well as The American Book Award, and her second novel Disappearing Acts became an HBO film in 2000. Her latest book, It’s Not All Downhill From Here, was released in 2020.
