Teyana Taylor And Iman Shumpert Finalize Divorce
Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert have finalized their divorce after quietly filing last year.
According to documents obtained by The Jasmine Brand, a judge in Georgia Fulton County Court ruled that Taylor will be granted four martial properties with a total worth of approximately $10 million. The Harlem-native will also keep her vehicles and jewelry while also retaining ownership of her companies “Taylormade” and “The Aunties.”
As for the former NBA champ and now reality star, Shumpert has been ordered to pay a “one-time seven figure payment” to Taylor, and will keep his Miami condo and residencies in South Georgia and Decatur. The former New York Knicks player will also have to pay the “Rose in Harlem” singer $8,000 in monthly child support, while covering private school fees for their two daughters.
Shumpert will also retain his portion of investments in their business ventures, although it has not been revealed exactly what those investments are.
News of Shumpert and Taylor’s divorce came in September 2023 after the Harlem native confirmed their separation. However, legal documents revealed that the divorce was actually filed in January of that same year, where Taylor accused Shumpert of “extreme emotional and mental abuse.”
Additionally, she claimed that her growing stardom angered him and therefore she “began to intentionally dim her light for her husband to try to have a harmonious and peaceful marriage.”
Taylor claimed to have turned down various acting roles and other opportunities because he “did not want her to work,” but then complained when she stopped working after giving birth.
Two months after their divorce news broke, The Chi actor issued a statement through his attorney saying he, “hopes parties and counsel can work toward a fair resolution, keeping the best interests of the children of paramount concern.”
Taylor and Shumpert married in 2016 after giving birth to their eldest daughter, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert, in 2015. They welcomed their second daughter, Rue Rose Shumpert, in 2020.
