Night Shift stars Chatchai Chinnasri (The Undertaker) and Neko Naerunchara (4 Kings). The film is directed by Chaiwat Sitalasai (Spirit of Ramayana).
Shot in a single take, Night Shift tells the story of a desperate and dirt-poor Khun (played by Chatchai), who decides to pack things up to have a better life in the city. He then takes on a shoddy night shift job in an abandoned apartment.
After the building’s superintendent hands him the keys and leaves him in charge for the night, Khun starts to hear noises he believes are coming from people inside of what should be an abandoned apartment. Soon, he is attacked by someone – or something – and he ends up fighting for his life.
Naerunchara plays Chatchai’s pregnant wife battling a sinister intruder in their haunted apartment.
Executive producers of Night Shift include Night Edge Pictures, Film Frame, Alt-B Pictures and Innova.
Film Frame Productions, which is co-producing the film, is also preparing a film adaptation of action-horror video game “Home Sweet Home: Rebirth.”
Night Edge has sold the film to over 18 territories including Vietnam, Taiwan, Russia and the Baltic countries.
“Night Shift is a great example of Night Edge’s razor-sharp focus on the horror and thriller genre as we start building our slate of Southeast Asian horror,” said Hans Audric Estialbo, CEO of Night Edge Pictures.
Night Shift marks a reunion for Chatchai Chinnasri and Nattawut Sanyabut, two stars from Thai comedy horror film The Undertaker, which was Thailand’s highest-grossing domestic film in 2023. It was a spinoff from the Thibaan: The Series franchise.
