‘The Muppets’ Recap: Kermit and Miss Piggy Get Back Together, Sort Of
Kermit’s little nephew Robin visited the office on Tuesday’s The Muppets. Robin’s parents had recently divorced, and he was looking forward to spending time with his Uncle Kermit and Aunt Miss Piggy, not knowing that the two had also broken up. “The only thing that got me through last year was knowing that you two are still together,” Robin told his uncle.
So when Miss Piggy arrived, Kermit tried to plant a smooch on his ex in front of his nephew. After a private talk, Miss Piggy decided to help Kermit with the ruse.
Kermit got the rest of the Muppets in on the act as well. Fozzie saw this as an opportunity to showcase his acting skills, but some of the other Muppets had trouble playing along. Scooter was unable to tell a lie, so Kermit convinced him that he had actually gotten back together with Miss Piggy.
The plan backfired when Scooter tweeted about the couple getting back together, causing a news crew to confront the frog and pig. Thinking Robin was busy playing elsewhere, the two fessed up and Robin overheard. After a heart-to-heart, Kermit and Miss Piggy were able to convince the young tadpole that even if the twosome were not an item, Robin will always have his Uncle Kermit and Aunt Miss Piggy.
The Muppets airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
