Meghan McCain gets cut off during heated discussion of the Mueller report on 'The View'
On The View Monday, a discussion about the recently released Mueller report once again pitted Meghan McCain against many of her co-hosts at the table. And before she was able to finish her point, she was cut off mid-rant by Whoopi Goldberg in favor of a commercial break.
The blow-up started with Sunny Hostin expressing her disappointment that Mitt Romney and other Republicans who are unlikely to support impeachment efforts against President Trump.
McCain, who has criticized Democrats in the past for helping Trump by cannibalizing each other, jumped into the conversation to say that defeating Trump in 2020 is less about what his republican supporters will do, and more about democrats winning over more voters in the middle of the country.
“I always took Trump seriously. This mess that we all got ourselves into, I blame the left as much as the right. And the demonizing of conservatives in this country, all Trump supporters in every way, you're getting him re-elected,” McCain said.
McCain went on to say that there are some decisions Trump has made that “aren’t the end of the world” that Republicans support, pointing to his moves with the Supreme Court.
As McCain continued to argue her point, telling to Hostin to “let me finish,” Goldberg looked to camera and silently sent it to commercial break, forcing McCain to quickly finish her point.
“Then you got no problems. Then he's gonna be out of office,” McCain said as the applause sounded and the camera panned away. “Then Republicans are just crap, and it doesn't matter!”
Viewers on Twitter were quick to respond to the heated debate, with many criticizing McCain’s defense of Republicans.
@MeghanMcCain Serious question. After all the times Trump disrespected your father, how can you still get insulted when anyone talks truth about him and his corrupt administration? The Dems has nothing BUT respect for your dad yet you trash talk them constantly.

nah, sorry @MeghanMcCain this is on the Republicans who chose him for their nominee and continue to enable him.

#TheView @MeghanMcCain should NEVER be allowed to disrespect a 20 year Veteran of the show @JoyVBehar . This is a hostile work environment and I can't believe the network has allowed it to go on for this long.

@MeghanMcCain your irrational ranting is exhausting, much like a 5yo

Anyone else tired of @MeghanMcCain on #TheView 😭 she can't let anyone speak without whining, cutting them off, and making it about herself. It's annoying to watch 💯😒

well she's not wrong.
“What’s the problem?” McCain said. “He’s the worst president in history. According to our legal analyst (Sunny Hostin), there’s so much in this report that is damning. Then what’s the problem? Why is everyone so nervous about 2020? #impeachtrumpnow— Real Truth Stings (@RealStings) April 22, 2019
You have way more than 1, 2 or 3 fans @MeghanMcCain @TheView. My family wish we could be in the audience cheering for you EVERYDAY! Keep it up, stay strong and in 2020 they will look back at your warnings and predictions saying WHY DIDN'T WE LISTEN TO YOU?!?!
