‘The Voice’ Recap: History Is Made and Dolly Parton Sings With Miley Cyrus
It was a wild night on The Voice as Blake Shelton lost two of his final three team members, Dolly Parton performed a couple of songs, and history was made with a Twitter Save.
Dolly opened the night with “Circle of Love,” from her special Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, with Jennifer Nettles. She later joined her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, and a cappella group Pentatonix for a cool performance of “Jolene.”
At the end of the night, Austin Allsup, Courtney Harrell, and Aaron Gibson ended up in the bottom three of the first double-elimination of the season. After getting saved the last two weeks, Aaron Gibson made Voice history as the first person to be saved three times by the Twitter Save. This meant that the most successful coach in Voice history, Blake Shelton, lost two of his final three team members in one night.
Blake let Austin and Courtney know how much he enjoyed coaching them, saying, “I’ll never forget the memories that the three of us have made together through this. Congratulations to both of you.”
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
Is this the best Voice performance ever?
