New Line Cinema Just Made a Big Announcement about 'Horizon: An American Saga'

Horizon: An American Saga has been in the making for more than 30 years. It's Kevin Costner's passion project, one that he has helped finance out of his own pocket. The Academy Award winner stars in the movie, along with Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, and Luke Wilson, and he also directed the epic movie.
Chapter one of the series, set to be four movies in total, is finally in theaters on June 28. Here's what you need to know before you buy your tickets.
How to Watch Horizon: An American Saga
The runtime for Horizon clocks in at more than 3 hours, so you'll want to have your popcorn ready. For now, there's only one way to watch the movie: At movie theaters. Check your local theater for showtimes and tickets, or head to Fandango to find a location near you.
But, thanks to a significant change of plans from New Line Cinema, you'll be able to watch the movie from home sooner than expected. Horizon will be available on PVOD (premium video on demand) on July 16, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
And go ahead and mark your calendars now: Chapter 2 of the Horizon saga will be in theaters on August 16, so you'll want to plan accordingly to see both movies this summer.
When Will Horizon Be Available on Streaming?
The movie will be able to rent or buy through PVOD on July 16, so you'll be able to watch from home on services like Prime Video or AppleTV+. Horizon is produced by Warner Bros., and the studio has a streaming deal with Max.
According to New Line Cinemas, "Territory Pictures and New Line Cinema have decided not to release Horizon: Chapter 2 on August 16 in order to give audiences a greater opportunity to discover the first installment of Horizon over the coming weeks, including on PVOD and MAX." A release date for Max streaming has not been announced yet.
