The Threesome Cast Revealed for Chad Hartigan’s Rom-Com
Chad Hartigan’s upcoming romantic comedy The Threesome — billed as a “high-concept, character-driven” feature — has just revealed its cast, including Not Okay’s Zoey Deutch, The Little Mermaid’s Jonah Hauer-King, and Bottoms’ Ruby Cruz. The three will be the film’s leads and will be joined by Jaboukie Young-White (Rap Sh!t) and Josh Segarra (Scream IV).
The director’s latest rom-com project has just wrapped production in Arkansas. The Threesome, which is based on a script by Ethan Ogilby, hails from Star Thrower Entertainment’s Tim White and Trevor White, Filmopoly’s Vince Jolivette, and Jupiter Peak’s Steven Shapiro.
Besides starring in the film, Deutch also served as executive producer alongside Liz, Ken Whitney, Angie Sanfilippo, David Garrett, and Allan Mandelbaum.
What is The Threesome about?
The Threesome will revolve around one impulsive decision that will lead to a life-altering outcome.
The official synopsis reads: “The Threesome explores the aftermath of one impulsive, seemingly innocuous decision. When a young man’s perennial crush leads him into an unexpected threesome, he thinks it’s his ultimate fantasy come true. But when the fantasy ends, all three are left with sobering real-world consequences, forcing them to take responsibility for their actions — even if it means compromising the lives they’ve always envisioned.”
Hartigan is no stranger to rom-coms, having previously helmed 2016’s Morris from America starring Craig Robinson and Markees Christmas. Deutch also boasts a number of comedies under her belt, such as Dirty Grandpa, Why Him?, Set It Up, Zombieland: Double Tap, Something from Tiffany’s, and the satirical black comedy Not Okay.
Hauer-King, moreover, has starred in movies and television shows like Postcards from London, Ashes in the Snow, A Dog’s Way Home, This Is the Night, and the live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. His television credits include World on Fire and The Flatshare. He will also lead Sky and Peacock’s series adaptation of Heather Morris’ The Tattooist of Auschwitz.
